Seismic & Ground Improvement
Site-specific seismic hazard, liquefaction triggering, and performance-based design for infrastructure in the Cascadia subduction zone.
Soft, saturated soils of the Fraser delta and coastal floodplains liquefy. We combine CPT, shear-wave velocity, and laboratory data to judge triggering and spreading, then recommend improvement or foundation systems that keep the structure serviceable after the design event.
Work includes LNG and industrial facilities, municipal infrastructure, and buildings where a generic Site Class is not enough.
