Slope Stabilization Program

Slope Stability

A 2.4-kilometre corridor of high-risk rock cuts required investigation, kinematic assessment, and a package of bolting, draped mesh, and drainage that could be installed on steep, active faces.

We stayed through construction so as-built structure and unforeseen wedges were folded back into the design rather than left as extras.

Pit Wall Optimization & Monitoring

Mining Geomechanics

Structural mapping and 3D analysis supported an 8° steepening of the final wall — additional ore, with the kinematics and factor of safety documented for operations and the regulator.

Radar and prism monitoring were specified with alarm thresholds the pit could run without a full-time modeller on the bench.

Watermain Chamber & Shoring

Safe Work Entry

A deep chamber on a live watermain corridor needed a shoring system that could be installed in tight urban ground without damaging adjacent services.

Slide-rail shoring was paired with vibration and acoustic monitoring so construction stayed inside agreed limits for the city and neighbouring properties.

Ground Improvement & Seismic Analyses

Seismic & Ground Improvement

Soft, saturated deltaic soils under a working terminal required a dense CPT and sonic program to characterize liquefaction susceptibility with enough resolution for design.

Triggering analyses and ground-improvement recommendations were prepared for a facility that cannot accept surprise settlements after a Cascadia event.
